The early bird draw for a free suite at the Host
Hotel for the 25th International was made at the International Winter Meeting
held on Saturday March 13. The winner was Jeff M, from Winnipeg Manitoba.
Congratulations to Jeff on his luck, and thank you to all the registrants who
have already paid up. We are looking at having a very exciting weekend.
Status of Events and Plans:
Friday: Registration all day and a welcome party Friday night at the Host Hotel - free to those who have registered. You will be asked to show that you are registered.
Saturday: The Show and Shine, will be held at McMahon Stadium, in the west side parking lot, from noon - 4:30pm. The location is across the street from the Host Hotel. This is not a concours event, but is Participant's Choice for voting. All Mustangs and Ford-powered vehicles are welcome. There will be approximately 35-40 different vehicle classes. Viewing of the show is FREE, the general public is welcome. You may not see a collection of Mustangs like this in Calgary for the next ten years.
Sunday: Autocross to be held at a not-yet-determined site. There will also be a Cruise down Highway 40 through Kananaskis Country.

June 29 Update - The host hotel, Best Western Village Park Inn informed us that as of June 25 there were ONLY 15 rooms left that have been reserved for the International. These are sure to go quickly. Do not despair, as there are the alternate hotels right next door that we also have agreements with. Their information is on the Registration form, but is restated here:

August 15 Update - We have already passed 200 pre-registered cars. We think that is great; thanks to all that have already registered. The host hotel, Best Western Village Park Inn has been sold-out for Friday and Saturday night for a couple weeks already. However, there are rooms available at the alternate hotels that are right next door. We still have a plan for a Saturday night barbeque. It will be about a 10 minute drive from the Hotel. We are looking at providing this at no-charge to the registrants.
The Autocross will not be happening. We will be having two different cruises happening on Sunday, starting at different times in the morning, with one longer than the other. Both will take you through our breath-taking foothills and mountains.
Another reminder that banquet tickets will need to
be paid for by Monday, August 30. You will be very happy with the meal; the Red
and White Club facility provides a fabulous meal.
August 26 Update - Directions to the host hotel, Best Western Village Park Inn. This hotel is part of a large complex called Motel Village, which houses around a dozen hotels and motels, and around 20 restaurants. It is situated at the north-east corner of the intersection of the TransCanada Highway (Highway #1) and Crowchild Trail NW. It is across the street to the east from McMahon Stadium, where the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL call home.
You can determine this exact location with Mapquest.com.
The actual link to this hotel complex is included
here: (you can copy the entire link into your browser)
August 28 Update - The times and locations for all events will be listed in the "Event Program" in your Registration package, so please ensure you know the times to be someplace. There will also be sign-up sheets for some of the events, such as the cruises on Sunday. There has been a separate class for Thunderbirds added to the Show. The Saturday night barbeque will be happening. We are presently around 260 pre-registered vehicles in total.
Thank you, and have a safe trip to Calgary.
September 11 Update - Wow !! The International was un-believe-able.!! It was larger than any of the volunteers could have ever dreamed. We ended up with 388 registered cars, a new record for the number of cars ever at the International Mustang Meets. This of course was due to the number of participants that came out and helped make history. This was the largest Ford-powered Show and Shine ever held in Calgary. Thanks again to all our sponsors. The weather cooperated on Saturday, Sunday and Monday (we were getting a little concerned on Friday afternoon). We were thrilled that Ford of Canada did bring an '05 Mustang to the Show. It was an absolute hit with the crowds. They will sell thousands of them for sure. The cruises were very well attended. The Awards Banquet was sold out; lots of great food, and lots of prizes. Everyone is pumped and excited about going to Helena, Montana for next year's International. They will be putting on a great show as well. Please consider going there. Watch for us to post the class winners of the Show and Shine here within the next few days.
Thanks to everyone that helped make this a fantastic

March 15, 2005 Update - At the Annual Winter
Meeting in Great Falls last weekend, we corrected an error that had made at our
Show. The Greater Vancouver Mustang Club should have properly won the Club
Participation trophy, however through a calculation error the trophy was awarded
to another Club. This has now been corrected, and our apologies to Vancouver.
Please enjoy the recognition your Club deserves, and the trophy. Thanks.
