This show was held
in Richmond, BC during the Labour Day long weekend of
August 28 - September 1, 2014, and hosted by the
Greater Vancouver Mustang Association.
This was the second
time that Vancouver had hosted the
International since its inception, with great weather once again
ruling the day. This years Show and Shine was held at Lansdowne
Centre Mall in Richmond.
The Host Hotel was
the beautiful River Rock Resort, which provided great rooms, food,
and entertainment. The view over the harbour, and the walks along
the water were also very much enjoyed.
There were 413 cars registered this year. Once again there was
certainly a large contingent of the '05-'09 Mustangs and Shelbys, as
well as a good number of 2010-14's.
There were a large number of
stock and modified Mustangs, Bullitt's, SVT Cobra's, and once
again a large number of the Mustangs on hand being
2005 and newer. This trend is certainly continuing each year, with
the performance, comfort and reliability that the new cars provide.
However, with the large number of people within a couple hours drive
time (Vancouver, Seattle, and more), there was a large number of
vintage Mustangs as well.
There were many AMAC
members who made the trip down to Vancouver; with some making the trek over two
days, while some drove the full stretch in a single day. Multiple AMAC Club cars participated, and their owners collected a
number of trophies for the Show and Shine. The Club
once again brought back the "Club Participation Award" for 2014,
for the fourth year in a row.
There were some
great meals served up by some of the local establishments. Some
people drove to Steveston Fisherman's Wharf for fresh seafood.
Others took the Sky Train to Granville Island and experience what it
had to offer. Other cruises were also participated in. There was great
hospitality put on by people in Vancouver, and with a lot of volunteers this
was certainly a successful weekend; for which they can be very proud
of. Hope to see you in 2015 in Missoula, MT for IMM 36.
Here are just a few of the
photos taken that weekend.
